El passat dia 21 d'agost del 2015 al matí es va produïr un incendi a un pis del carrer Narcís Monturiol amb la Riera d’en Cintet, a causa d’unes espelmes que van calar foc un matalàs. Com a conseqüència de l’incendi no es van lamentar ferits, només un agent de la Policia local va ser traslladat de forma preventiva a l’Hospital de Mataró per inhalació de fum. El que sí van quedar afectats van ser dos pisos i l’escala de la comunitat.
La trucada telefònica alertant de l’incendi es va rebre a les 7.05 h a través del telèfon 112 i al lloc dels fets es van desplaçar quatre dotacions de bombers, tres unitats de la Policia Local, dues de Mossos d’Esquadra i una ambulància. Fins a l’extinció del foc, els veïns de l’edifici van estar confinats als seus domicilis.
